In a world of conflict, crises and uncertainty, it is important to ground ourselves in stories that give us hope.  Hope that amongst all of the issues and problems we face, there is a bright shining light at the end of the tunnel.

This film tells the story of a people, subjugated by others.  It follows the plight of one young woman and her fight to reclaim her life and find her own peace, reconciliation and love in the melee that is her life.

The House on the Roof of the World is ultimately a story of love and compassion and aims to give a voice to those that are marginalised and silenced.

The film is highly important to the writer, Jon Lawrence, who has spent years studying these peace-loving people and their culture and also has a Masters degree in Tibetan music.
